In the mid 1960s Red Arrow Lines converted the Ardmore trolley (69th
Street to Ardmore in suburban Philadelphia) to a bus route. Part of
the trolley ROW was used as a private busway, a usage that continues
to this day.

SEPTA proposed changes to the bus route which described on the tariff
below (includes map).

The trolley route used to go down the center island on West Chester
Pike. Ever since they replaced the trolleys, it seems that ridership
has continuously plunged. The last time I rode it (a couple years
ago), SEPTA was running the smallest buses in the fleet.
